Government should target louts, not off-licences

SELF-CONTROL seems to be an alien concept in this country.

Government should target louts, not off-licences

The proposal to curb binge drinking by limiting off-licence hours suggests that these outlets are to blame for the problem.

It seems to me our nanny State is intent on punishing the majority for the misbehaviour of a reckless, selfish minority who think it is acceptable to consume vast quantities of alcohol, start a fight and then next day blame it on the demon drink or the businesses that sold it to them without once reflecting that the real problem is their own despicable behaviour. Don’t blame the drink, blame the drinker — or some drinkers.
