Spanish visitor baffled by the workshy Irish

WHY do you have a category of people in Ireland called “working class” when so few of them work?

I spent many summers in Ireland learning English and working part-time because the employment prospects in your country are so much better than in Spain.

If a student with little English to begin with can find work in Ireland, why are the Irish themselves not compelled to work?

If we had the same level of employment here in Cadiz, we would be dancing in the streets because when you don’t work in Spain, you can only go on the dole for so long before it runs out — and then you get nothing.

I can’t understand why so many Irish people who are capable of working can be so lazy.

Shame on you and shame on your Government for allowing this to happen.
