We need a minister for crime prevention

THE crime rate has been rising at an alarming rate. Statistics are notoriously unreliable and may be used to support diametrically opposed views.

We may argue about them, yet there is no denying they reveal a deeply disturbing pattern.

I believe the Government should appoint a minister with special responsibility for crime prevention.
