Partitionist answer to the nuclear question

WHAT a wonderful realisation of cross-border co-operation it would be if premier-in-waiting Gordon Brown could be convinced to build one of Britain’s proposed nuclear plants somewhere in the ‘Six Counties’.

Partitionist answer to the nuclear question

Among the many benefits would be a contribution to the regeneration of a struggling northern economy; a degree of energy independence for the ‘whole island’ and, of course, it would reduce transmission costs to the Republic as the electricity could be transmitted overland rather than over sea from one of the nuclear plants on the ‘mainland.’

The entertaining prospect of Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern fulminating against nuclear power should not be discounted either.
