Fergus fails to convince

ANOTHER week, another column of independent thought from Fergus Finlay.

This week Mr Finlay informed us that “there is a palpable sense throughout the community that people are getting tired of having a very tired Government” and that Ruairi Quinn was responsible for the budget surpluses under Charlie McCreevy — a remarkable achievement from the opposition benches (Irish Examiner, April 10).

Last week, we were informed of the “passion displayed by Kenny” and the “heavyweight political qualities already shown by Pat Rabbitte”.

The pedantic nature of the columns is causing me to wonder if Mr Finlay is trying to convince himself rather than us, the readers.
