How car test centres cut carbon output

A LONG time ago I applied for my driving test. During the time it took to get a test date I had finished university and relocated to Dublin, which left me with no choice but to defer the mid-week date and request a Saturday instead.

How car test centres cut carbon output

I was told this wouldn’t be a problem — just some more waiting. Six months later I’ve been rescheduled with another test date, which is once again mid week. I called the centre and was informed they no longer conducted driving tests on Saturdays.

Now I have come to the only conclusion that makes any sense: the lack of efficiency and resources in the driving test system is part of the Government’s plan to combat global warming — to reduce the numbers taking driving tests will result in fewer people driving longer distances thus reducing carbon emissions. Brilliant, and all along I underestimated my country’s government. Shame on me.
