Heating costs - Move to cut gas bills welcome

NEWS that gas bills could fall by up to 30% by the end of the year is most welcome, especially in the context of our rising inflation.

Following steep falls in the price of gas on world markets, Bord Gáis is cutting its bills by 10% next month.

The State-owned company also indicated yesterday that there would be a further cut of 15% to 20% by next October.
