DUP continues its delaying tactics

ONCE again, we hear of how the setting up of the Northern Assembly has reached ‘deadlock’. Once again, everyone turns to Sinn Féin to make the first move. What part of the DUP does it not understand?

DUP continues its delaying tactics

The DUP has a bottom line — it will never share power with republicans unless they become unionists first.

We have one red herring after another. First, they nearly scuppered IRA decommissioning with the ridiculous last-minute insistence on afeature-length film of the act, then they insisted on rewriting the Good Friday Agreement as the St Andrew’s Agreement; they scoffed when the IRA was stood down and now they want full Sinn Féin commitment to policing despite genuine reservations over that force. If Sinn Féin does back the PSNI 100%, the DUP will insist on some other delaying measure.
