Guide dog suddenly grounded by airline

SINCE 1969 I have been coming regularly to Ireland, first on vacation and, after retirement, to live part-time in Co Kerry.

Travelling to Kerry was never easy, but for me it is even more strenuous now as I’m dependent on a wheelchair and the help of my well-trained guide dog.

In December 2005, I flew from Munich to Cork without any problem. The journey was made possible by the helpfulness of the Department of Agriculture and Aer Lingus.
