Why slaughter these beautiful creatures?

EVERYONE who cares for wildlife and the environment will be revolted by the decision of Iceland to resume whaling.

Why slaughter these beautiful creatures?

Since it is apparently relatively insignificant to the Icelandic economy, one can only speculate as to why they want to resume this barbarous activity.

On RTE’s Morning Ireland (October 18), one whaling advocate argued that the killing methods were not inhumane, but rather involved the use of grenades! Incredible.

All concerned people should write to the Icelandic president or prime minister to protest against this brutality. Surely civilisation has moved beyond the need to kill and maim such beautiful and defenceless creatures.
