Aer Lingus not floating so smoothly online

GLAD to see the sale of the previously State-owned airline went so well. Doubtless the new owners are full of glee at their purchase.

Perhaps they will be able to sort out the little problem of buying Aer Lingus tickets online.

On Saturday last I tried to purchase online two adult Birmingham/Cork return tickets for elderly relatives.

Amazingly, it seems if you are using an Irish bank card to buy tickets in Ireland from an Irish airline you cannot do so because the fare is quoted in sterling. My bank referred me to Aer Lingus, who are aware of the situation, but according to their phone helpline, they have no proposals to correct the present daft state of affairs.
