Justice needs to be restored in the Middle East

MONTY ROSS scarcely rises above personal insults (Irish Examiner letters, September 20).

For defending Palestinian and Lebanese civilians against Israeli violence, I am equated with Ian Paisley, told I simply want “to have a go at the Israelis” and denounced as ignorant.

In Mr Ross’s talk of ignorance, he slips in that in the Middle East “lying to attain one’s objectives is a part of the local culture”. It is difficult to read this sort of racial stereotyping as anything other than anti-Arab bigotry.
