Cluster bombs are murder weapons

THE discovery by UN officials of more than 10,000 Israeli cluster bombs in southern Lebanon is horribly significant. It gives the lie to well orchestrated claims that Israel does not intentionally kill or maim innocent civilians in its invasions of Lebanon and Gaza.

Cluster bombs are murder weapons. Tiny, unobtrusive and deadly, they are specifically designed to maim and kill the unsuspecting. Their evil harvest is often particularly high among children who are liable to stand on, kick or pick up the innocent-looking spheres that are designed to blow their limbs off.

The use of these cowardly, vicious weapons is hardly the act of a nation defending itself — it is rather the mark of a terrorist regime.
