Will car parking charges at the station drive commuters off the rails?

I HAVE just become aware that Iarnród Eireann intends to charge commuters approximately €2 per day to park at Mallow rail station from next week.

I feel this is a disgrace considering...

(a) How much Iarnród Éireann already makes from those commuting to Cork from Mallow on a daily basis throughout the working year — €1,120
