Motorbike gardaí need clear identification

YOU published a picture of a motorcycle garda with his helmet placed on the bike seat (Irish Examiner, July 19).

The helmet did not have garda badges.

As it is obligatory for a motorist to stop for a garda in uniform, why are so many motorcycle gardaí equipped with helmets which only have the manufacturer’s logo on view?
