THE Government has been asked to make three key changes over the next three months to improve children’s rights, including giving children an independent legal voice in their parents divorce proceedings.

The State is due to report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in September to show how it is meeting the obligations to children it signed up to fourteen years ago.

Children’s Groups issued their shadow report to the Committee in Geneva yesterday, listing a litany of failures, shortcomings and missed opportunities.
