Leaving Cert is not a level playing field

I WISH to draw attention to an anomaly in the third-level education selection system.

Leaving Cert is not a level playing field

The CAO system may be fair, but the Leaving Cert exam results on which the system depends are unfair. It is not a level playing field for all students.

To encourage students in a bygone age to study Irish, a bonus system was introduced whereby students doing their Leaving Cert as Gaeilge gained a percentage bonus which was added on to their overall result in the particular subject.
