Government must tackle housing crisis

IT has taken far too long for the government to acknowledge the social housing crisis. Tens of thousands of families are forced to pay high rents while on waiting lists.

The cruel irony for those who wait, hope and pay is that they see seemingly endless rows of houses being built and bought.

The speculator takes precedence and greedily exploits the needs of the homeless.
