No room for camper vans

WITH reference to truck drivers and the lack of parking spaces on our roads (Irish Examiner letters, April 21), when I go out in my camper I also have nowhere to park.

The lay-bys are blocked off with height barriers so I can’t park there, and when I go shopping in the camper most of the car parks also have barriers. I pay taxes and insure my car and camper van and yet I, like thousands of others, am prevented from using our lay-bys to relax.

I have been all over England and France and there are lay-bys and rest areas every couple of miles. Some even have showers/sprinklers and toilet facilities for drivers to rest and freshen -up.
