Revelation of truck drivers’ conditions make me see them in a completely different light

I ALWAYS used to complain about truck drivers and the way they park on the hard shoulder of the roads (Irish Examiner letters, April 21).

Revelation of truck drivers’ conditions make me see them in a completely different light

I live in Fermoy, on the Dublin side of town, and have to exit from a side road on to the main road every time I need to go out. This is dangerous enough at the best of times but if I go out early in the morning or late at night I am taking my life in my hands because of the trucks parked at the side of the road. I have to edge further out on the road to get a clear view, which makes the exit a lot more dangerous.

I don’t know how many times I have cursed the drivers for parking there but now I realise they don’t have any choice but to park where they do.
