Readers Blog: Time to 'think five minutes ahead' on issue of abortion

Five-minutes ahead. That is what I tell my son. Think five-minutes ahead and what impact will your actions have on others before you do them. 

Ireland needs to think five-minutes ahead on repealing the 8th Amendment.

What wil such a move do to the fabric of society? What will we become?

Most of us will not be around in a hundred years but I prefer to imagine an Ireland that holds its ground on protecting the innocent children that have no voice.

An Ireland that the rest of the world will look at and say, “the Irish had it right all the long. They valued the life of people, no matter their size, shape or socio-economic background.”

Ireland has an opportunity to stand up to the rest of the world and tell them they are wrong.

Think five-minutes ahead. Vote “no” to repealing the 8th.
