Disabled people in institutions still exposed to abuse, coercion and neglect, ministers warned

Disabled people in congregated and institutional settings are still not being protected from the threat of violence, neglect, coercion, and financial abuse, ministers have been told.

In a letter to several ministers, Oireachtas disability matters committee chairman Maurice Quinlivan said there is an urgent need to take action given the evidence that has been submitted to the committee.
