Communities to be able to make a case to the Central Bank for an ATM

The Access to Cash laws will ensure people can withdraw money and do not have to travel long distances to an ATM.

Finance Minister Michael McGrath has brought forward legislation that will mean local communities will be able to make the case to the Central Bank to have an ATM installed in their area under new access to cash legislation.

The Central Bank will then be able to order the three main banks to roll out an ATM if is felt that there is a particular "local deficiency".
