Cork traffic and weather: Overcast conditions expected with occasional showers

According to Met Éireann, conditions will turn more cloudy in the afternoon. 

Highest temperatures of 14-16℃ will be paired with light to moderate southwest winds.

There will be outbreaks of rain later on Wednesday evening, with temperatures set to drop to 11-14℃.

Similar rainy and overcast conditions are expected on Thursday morning, before giving way to sunny spells and occasional showers forecast for the afternoon. Temperatures will rise to around 16-19℃.

Traffic

Commuters can expect heavy congestion around the N71 Northbound on its connection to the Cork South Ring Road around Junction 3. 

Stretches of the N28 around Rafeen Bridge also appear to be experiencing heavy set traffic. 

National outlook for coming days 

Nationally, a dry and bright day on Friday is forecast. 

Clouds will increase from the west later in the day, with outbreaks of rain developing along the Atlantic seaboard in the evening, in a freshening southerly wind.

Wet blustery conditions will become widespread on Friday night with the rain, but will clear southeastwards on Saturday and give way to sunny spells and scattered showers, as the winds gradually ease. 

Temperatures are expected to broach 20C in parts of the country.
