Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision on Cork city's northside.

The incident, involving a car and a van, occurred on Friday morning on the North City Link Road, between the Spar store and the Heineken facility.

Two units from Cork City Fire Brigade and one ambulance are in attendance.

It is understood the car sustained significant damage to its front bumper in the collision.

Motorists travelling to and from Blackpool are advised to expect delays in the area.

It is not yet known whether any injuries have been reported.
