A man in his 60s has been airlifted to Cork University Hospital (CUH) following a serious road crash in westCork on Wednesday evening.

The incident, involving a motorcycle and a car, occurred at Snave, near Bantry, at around 6.40pm.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was airlifted to CUH for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

The passenger on the motorcycle, a woman in her 50s, was also taken to CUH as a precaution.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told the Irish Examiner that no other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

No further information is available as “investigations are ongoing”, the spokesperson added.
