Man charged in connection with fatal assault of mother of three in Waterford

Woman in her 40s, named locally as Yveta Donovalova, found with serious injuries at her home as man in his 30s charged.

Man charged over fatal assault of mother of three, Yveta Donovalova, found dead at her home in Waterford city.

A man has been charged in connection with the fatal assault of a woman at her home in Waterford city.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the Grange Heights housing estate at around 6.15pm on Monday.

Yveta Donovalova, a 43-year-old mother of three, was found with serious injuries at her home in the Grange Heights housing estate just after 6pm on Monday.

She was taken to University Hospital Waterford where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

In an update on Wednesday afternoon, gardaí said the man, in his 30s, who was arrested in connection with this investigation, has been charged. 

He is due to appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court on Wednesday evening. 

"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
