A man has been charged in relation to a serious assault that left a Limerick artist blind in one eye.

The incident occurred in the Old Cratloe Road area of Limerick city on March 28 at approximately 10:30am.

Artist Tobi Omoteso said he was "tailed through the streets of Limerick" after packing up his car following a hip-hop community festival.

Gardaí arrested the man, who is in his 20s, on Tuesday.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before Limerick District Court on Wednesday morning.
