Teenage boy on e-bike dies in hit-and-run on Clare-Limerick border

A teenage boy has died after the e-bike he was riding was involved in a fatal road traffic collision near Cloonlara on the Clare-Limerick border.
The boy, who was in his mid-teens, was found unresponsive at the roadside on the L3050 at Cottage Cross shortly after 11pm on Friday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí said a second vehicle involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene.
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, while local traffic diversions are currently in place.
The Coroner has been notified and an autopsy will be arranged.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
They are also asking road users who were in the Cloonlara area at the time and may have dash-cam or other camera footage to make it available to investigators.
