Two injured and taken to hospital after early-morning shooting in Limerick

A teenager and a man have been taken to hospital after an overnight shooting in Limerick.

The incident occurred at approximately 2.35am at a residence in Garryowen.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner that they attended the scene on Thursday following a report of an incident involving the "discharge of a firearm".

They said the teenager and a man, aged in his 40s, were conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of injuries believed to be "non-life-threatening at this time".

Gardaí are continuing their investigations.
