A man has been arrested following the seizure of over €1.5 million worth of drugs in Limerick City.
An intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs was carried out on Wednesday by gardaí attached to the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit.
Gardaí stopped a vehicle in the city and carried out a search of it. During the course of the search, suspected cocaine worth around €70,000 was found.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested. He has since been detained at a Limerick Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996.
