Neil Young cancels entire European tour including Cork date
Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts
Singer-songwriter Neil Young has cancelled his entire European tour, saying “this is not the time” for him to be playing shows.
The Canadian star, 80, had been due to play Cork's Virgin Media Park this July alongside Elvis Costello.Â
However, ticketholders have received an email saying: "The event organiser has cancelled the performance of Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts on July 1, 2026. You’ll receive an automatic refund on your original method of payment within 14-21 days depending on your bank's processing time."
The emails also contained a message from the singer in which he said: "Folks, I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts."
Young had last played Cork in 2014 at Live at the Marquee, a venue he’d also played in 2008.
