Man, 40s, hospitalised after car collides with Garda van in Waterford

A man has been hospitalised after a car collided with a Garda patrol van in Waterford City on Wednesday night. 

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident, which happened at around 9.10pm in The Glen. 

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

A garda spokesperson said no Garda members reported any injuries. 

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
