Two men charged following garda operation targeting assaults and weapons offences in Tipperary

The arrests were made by gardaí from Roscrea Station on Monday morning
Two men have been charged following a garda operation targeting assaults, weapons offences and public order incidents in Co Tipperary.
The arrests were made by gardaí from Roscrea Station on Monday morning, October 6, with support from the Armed Support Unit and the Dog Unit.
The operation forms part of ongoing investigations into a series of incidents that occurred in the county between November 2024 and July 2025.
A man in his 30s was charged and brought before Limerick District Court on Monday afternoon. A second man, in his 20s, has also been charged and is due to appear before Thurles District Court this morning, Tuesday, October 7.
Separately, gardaí in Co Tipperary arrested 14 people on foot of outstanding bench warrants in Nenagh, Roscrea, and Newport on Monday.
Inspector Aiden Lonergan of the East Clare–Tipperary North Community Engagement area said the arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of gardaí to address serious public order matters and ensure accountability before the courts.
“This operation shows the determination of An Garda Siochana across North Tipperary and East Clare to bring those involved in serious Public Order and related matters before the courts,” he said.
“Those who fail to appear in court and who receive a bench warrant will continue to be a focus for members stationed across North Tipperary and East Clare.”
