Limerick councillors voted to maintain the Local Property Tax at current levels, securing €2.56m for essential services in 2026

Limerick City and County Council has announced there will be no change to the Local Property Tax (LPT) rate for homeowners in 2026.

Councillors voted to keep the LPT and its variation rate at 2025 levels (15% above the base rate).
