Pedestrian, 30s, in critical condition following crash in Cork

A pedestrian in his 30s is in critical condition following a serious crash in Co Cork.
The crash, involving a car and a pedestrian, occurred on the R582 at Gurteenroe near Macroom shortly after 2am on Sunday.
The man was discovered with serious injuries at the scene.
He received medical treatment and was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The occupants of the car did not require immediate attention.
The scene was preserved for medical examination, but the road has since reopened.
GardaĂ are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, who were travelling on the Millstreet Road in the Macroom area between 1am and 2.15am on Sunday, 10th August 2025, are asked to share this material with GardaĂ.

On Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, died following a collision with a car in Co Waterford.
The crash occurred on the Williamstown Road shortly after 1pm.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford, where an autopsy will take place in due course.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 60s, died following a collision in Co Tipperary on Saturday morning.
GardaĂ and emergency services responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the N24 at Kilmoyler, Cahir, at around 10.40am.
The man, who was the sole occupant and driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Tipperary University Hospital, where an autopsy will be conducted.
GardaĂ are appealing for witnesses.
