Young motorcyclist dies in late-night crash in Waterford

The road remains closed this morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

A motorcyclist in his 20s has died in a crash in County Waterford.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the single-vehicle collision, which occurred on the R675 at Ballinahilla in Bunmahon at approximately 11.45pm on Wednesday.

The motorcyclist, in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford, where an autopsy will take place.

The road remains closed this morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 11pm and midnight are asked to make the footage available.
