'Musical ambassador': Renowned Cork opera singer Joe Corbett dies

The baritone singer was no stranger to local stages including Cork Opera House, the Everyman theatre and Cork City Hall

The community are mourning a well-known operatic singer who has been described as "one of the greatest musical ambassadors Cork's northside has ever seen."

Joe Corbett- who hailed from Churchfield and studied at the Cork School of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London and the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin- passed away from an illness on Thursday.
