A verdict of ā€œunlawful killingā€ has returned at an inquest into the death of a student journalist who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run, in Limerick, two years ago.

Joe Drennan, aged 21, Mountrath, Co Laois, died of ā€œcatastrophic injuriesā€, his inquest, which was held at Limerick Coroner’s Court, Kilmallock, heard.
