Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Co Cork on Thursday afternoon.

The collision, involving two cars, occurred on the N25 Eastbound near Cobh Cross, Co Cork on Thursday, shortly before 3pm.

The drivers of both vehicles, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 40s, were conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road has since reopened to traffic.

It is understood a car which was being driven in the wrong direction, drove into another car. 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N25 and the environs of Cobh Cross yesterday, afternoon between 2.30pm and 3.15pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí," said a Garda spokesperson.
