Man due in court in connection with €185k drug seizure in Cork
15,000 ecstacy tablets, with an estimated street value of €150,000 and half a kilogramme of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €35,000 were discovered and seized.
Two people have been arrested after a garda operation in Cork resulted in a combined €185,000 worth of drugs being seized in Cork on Saturday.
As part of Operation Tara — a nationwide operation which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels — officers attached to the Cork City Divisional Drugs unit carried out a search at a home in Douglas.
15,000 ecstacy tablets, with an estimated street value of €150,000 and half a kilogramme of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €35,000 were discovered and seized.
A man in his 30s arrested in connection with this investigation has been charged. He is expected to appear before a special sitting of Mallow District Court on Monday, 23rd December, 2024, at 11.30am.
A woman in her 30s who was also arrested has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
A garda spokesperson said that investigations were ongoing.
