'Very high' astronomical spring tides to cause flooding across Cork City, says council

The council has advised locals to put their tidal barriers in place before the high tide on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening

Cork City Council says road flooding will also likely occur on Kyrls Quay, Lavitts Quay, Lapps Quay, Proby’s Quay, French’s Quay, and Sullivan’s Quay.  

Cork City Council has advised householders and businesses to "take precautionary measures to protect their property" during "very high" astronomical spring tides later this week.

The spring tides will last from Wednesday until Sunday, and in addition a tidal surge is also forecast to occur during this time.
