Man, 40s, dies following single-vehicle crash in Co Clare

A man has died after a single-vehicle accident in Co Clare on Monday afternoon.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene after a car struck a barrier on the N85 Ennis Bypass at around 12.40pm.
A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick.
He was treated for his injuries but passed away on Monday evening.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “ The male driver of the vehicle (aged in his 40s) was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he later passed away. The Coroner has been notified.
"The N85 Ennis Bypass has since reopened to traffic.”
A spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing and updates will be issued in due course.
