Cork broadband outage was due to 'vehicle collision' – Virgin Media
Virgin Media Ireland told the 'Irish Examiner': Engineers are on site and services are in the process of being restored.
Virgin Media Ireland has blamed a collision for knocking out broadband to its customers across Cork for almost 24 hours.
The company did not say how many customers had been affected.
However, dozens of people took to social media to complain about being without a broadband service since around 5.30pm on Friday.
Many who rely on broadband to work from home said they lost several hours work because of the incident.

They were also critical of the lack of information from the company about the issue.
In a post on social media on Saturday, Virgin Media Ireland apologised for any inconvenience caused.
"We have a localised fault impacting connectivity in the Cork area. Our team are working to get you back on line as soon as possible," it said.
In a statement to the , a company spokesperson blamed a "vehicle collision overnight" for the fault.
"We are aware of a localised fault impacting connectivity in the Cork area," it said.
"Engineers are on site and services are in the process of being restored."
It did not say where the incident occurred, or when broadband will be restored.
