Woman, 20s, dies in single-vehicle crash in Waterford

A woman in her 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Waterford. 

Gardaí are currently at the scene of the collision, which occurred at about 10.15pm on Monday night on the R685 at Quillia in Tramore.

The driver and sole occupant of the car involved, a woman in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Her body has since been removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford and an autopsy will take place in due course. 

The R685 at Quillia remains closed, with local diversions in place. 

Forensic collision investigators are to conduct a technical examination of the scene on Tuesday morning. 

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling on the R685 at Quillia between 10pm and 10.20pm on Monday night have been asked to make this footage available.
