Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a woman in West Cork.

The woman, who was in her 40s, was pronounced dead at a house in Sean Buckley Terrace in Bandon at around 10pm on Sunday night.

Gardaí and ambulance services had been called to the property a short time earlier.

A garda spokesman said: “Her body has since been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital, for a post-mortem to take place at a later stage. The coroner has been notified. Investigations are ongoing.”
