A six-month driving ban was imposed on a man who clocked up his fourth conviction for being a learner driver driving while unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
Nicholas Duna (24), Rossvale, Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise, Co Laois was before last week’s sitting of the local district court for the non-display of L plates, as well as being a learner driver driving while unaccompanied by a qualified driver when stopped driving by gardaí on Dublin Road, Ballyroan on February 24.
His case was heard in his absence the previous week and was up for finalisation last week.
When the case resumed last week, Judge Andrew Cody noted: “This is his fourth conviction for driving while he was unaccompanied.”
He convicted Mr Duna of driving while unaccompanied, fined him €500 and disqualified him from driving for six months.
For the non-display of L plates, he was fined €250.
