Now retired Garda Superintendent Eamon O'Neill. The jury in the case against him and four serving gardaí will resume their deliberations on Monday. 

A jury was sent home for the weekend in the trial of a retired superintendent and four serving gardaí accused of unlawfully squaring away traffic offence summonses for motorists.

After eight weeks hearing evidence at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court, the jury, consisting of eight men and four women, had retired at 2.03pm and deliberated for two hours and six minutes to consider their verdicts.
