Man, 20s, arrested as €10,000 worth of cocaine seized in Kerry

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of €10,000 worth of cocaine in Kerry.
At approximately 10pm on Tuesday night, as part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region, gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs unit stopped a car travelling on the N22 towards Farranfore.
The driver, a man in his 20s, subsequently failed a roadside drug test, leading gardaí to search his vehicle. Inside, gardaí uncovered and seized €1,400 worth of cocaine.
In a follow-up search, at a premises in Killarney, gardaí discovered a further €8,600 worth of cocaine along with drug paraphernalia.
The man has been arrested in connection with the seizures. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a garda station in Kerry.
Gardaí said the drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis and investigations are ongoing.
