Cork man accused of putting mother in fear remanded on bail

Accused said his mother had severe mental health concerns and denied any improper conduct

Gardaí were opposed to bail being granted to the defendant at Cork District Court.

 A 43-year-old carer for his mother was brought before an in camera hearing of Cork District Court charged with putting her in fear in breach of a protection order.

Garda Caroline O’Donnell said gardaí were opposed to bail being granted to the defendant as it was envisaged that there would be further difficulties if he was released.
